European Privet (Ligustrum vulgare)
European Privet (Ligustrum vulgare) is a tough, dense shrub with dark green, glossy foliage which produces panicles of white flowers during the summer months.
This shrub is a popular choice for screens and hedges. To maintain its density and avoid becoming leggy and overgrown, your European Privet will require regular trimming. Once flowering has finished it’s time to pick up your secateurs and prune it back into shape.
When searching for the perfect place to plant your new shrub, make sure you choose somewhere with full sun to part shade. One you have chosen where to plant, the next step is to prepare your soil with broken down compost, plenty of organic matter and mulch to help maintain moisture.
