Schools Tree Planting Day: A Growing Success

On Friday, 25 July 2025, ASQ proudly hosted its annual Plant It Forward tree planting day in collaboration with local schools, marking a vibrant celebration of environmental stewardship and community spirit. The initiative saw over $1,200 worth of plants donated to various schools, thanks to the generous support of community members and ASQ’s tree-matching program.

Students from several schools, including Newstead Primary School, Harcourt Valley Primary School, Winters Flat Primary School, Castlemaine Primary School, Dunolly Primary School, Carisbrook Primary School, Talbot Primary School, Eaglehawk North, Marist College Bendigo and Violet Street Primary School.

Harcourt Valley Primary School elected to receive vegetable seedlings to use in the veggie gardens. Once established, the students will be able to harvest them and use the tomatoes in their food prep classes.

Due to the challenging weather conditions, several schools rescheduled their planting day. Students demonstrated resilience and enthusiasm, turning the day into a hands-on learning experience that connected them with nature and their local environment. ASQ team members provided support if needed, offering guidance to ensure the success of every planting effort.

The broader Plant It Forward campaign, aligned with Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day, emphasised the benefits of outdoor learning. Research shows that nature-based activities significantly enhance students’ psychological well-being, social connectivity, and environmental awareness

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students, teachers, volunteers, and customers who made this day possible.
