ASQ | Newbridge, near Bendigo, VIC

Join a local business where you can make a difference

About ASQ

ASQ is a locally owned, family-operated business servicing Central Victoria since 1970. With operations across quarries, concrete and garden and landscape supplies, we provide quality products and reliable solutions for domestic, commercial and industrial projects.

Our quarry operations supply crushed rock and aggregates throughout Bendigo and the surrounding region. Supported by a modern fleet of over 30 vehicles and a team of professional drivers, we take pride in delivering products safely, efficiently and on time.

About the role

We’re looking for a reliable, organised and proactive person to join our Transport team at our quarry site in Newbridge.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining weighbridge operations, customer service, administration and transport coordination. You’ll play an important part in keeping the quarry running smoothly by processing customer orders, coordinating truck movements, communicating with drivers and site personnel and supporting the daily scheduling of our transport fleet.

About you

You don’t need to have worked in a quarry or operated a weighbridge before. If you have strong administration or customer service skills, enjoy a fast-paced operational environment and are willing to learn, we’d like to hear from you.

You’ll receive support to learn our systems, processes and transport requirements, with the opportunity to build your knowledge of logistics and heavy vehicle transport operations.

What you’ll be doing

Weighbridge Operations & Customer Service

  • Process incoming and outgoing vehicles and accurately record weights.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to customer enquiries and assist with sales and orders.
  • Prepare driver dockets, sales documentation and reports.
  • Process cash and EFTPOS transactions.
  • Coordinate truck movements and direct drivers around the site.
  • Communicate with quarry personnel to ensure products are correctly allocated and loaded.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow company procedures and legislative requirements.

Transport Administration & Coordination

  • Assist with the daily scheduling of ASQ and subcontractor vehicles.
  • Communicate with drivers and subcontractors to support timely customer deliveries.
  • Assist with reviewing timesheets and daily transport records.
  • Support incident reporting and monitor transport performance.
  • Maintain accurate information in our transport scheduling and administration systems.

About you

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with others and can keep things organised when the operation gets busy.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience in administration, customer service, logistics, dispatch or a similar operational role.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers, records and computer systems.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to follow direction, use initiative and work independently.
  • A safety-conscious attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • A willingness to learn transport operations and heavy vehicle compliance requirements.

Experience in a weighbridge, quarry, transport or logistics environment would be an advantage, but is not essential for the right candidate. A current Australian driver’s licence is required.

Why work for ASQ?

ASQ employs over 100 people across multiple sites and offers the opportunity to be part of an established, locally owned business with a supportive, team-oriented culture.

  • A varied role with a mix of customer service, administration and operational coordination.
  • Training and support to develop your skills and industry knowledge.
  • The opportunity to build experience in transport scheduling and logistics.
  • Opportunities for ongoing career development within a growing business.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • Workplace flexibility where operational requirements allow.
  • Staff discounts on ASQ products.
