Harcourt Granite - A locally sourced recycled material


In 2017 ASQ Allstone Quarries were involved as part of the Ravenswood Interchange project where the new interchange at the intersection of the Calder Highway and Calder Alternative Highway at Ravenswood and two new freeway carriageways from Bullock Creek to Ravenswood Creek. The project also widened existing bridges and constructed new service roads.

Our mission is to be sustainable and minimise the need to produce new materials when recycled materials are available. As part of the Ravenswood Interchange works, we removed and screened rock material to share it back with the community. 

 

The below list of products are part of our Harcourt Granite range which is derived from rock removed from the Ravenswood Interchange works in 2017

  1. Decomposed Granite Sand is a highly compactible sand suitable for creating environmentally friendly, compacted surfaces. This product is commonly used for driveways, paths, paver bases and other areas where a high level of compaction and a natural finish is required. 
  2. Harcourt Granite Aggregate 7-14mm is a recycled material featuring angular stones with varying shades of greys and pinks with subtle black flecks. A popular choice for low maintenance lawn alternatives, this product is also suitable for suppressing weeds in garden beds, helping plants to retain moisture during dry periods and as an attractive drainage solution.  
  3. Harcourt Granite 7mm toppings is a sustainable material featuring various shades of greys with subtle black flecks. This product is commonly used as a decorative finish for compacted areas including driveways, parking spaces, footpaths and low maintenance alternatives to lawn. 
  4. Harcourt Granite Aggregate 20-40mm is a recycled material that features angular stones with varying shades of greys and pinks with subtle black flecks. This product is commonly used to suppress weeds in garden beds, help plants retain moisture during dry periods and as an attractive finish for various drainage solutions.  
  5. Harcourt Granite Aggregate 40-80mm is a sustainable material featuring angular stones with varying shades of greys and pinks with subtle black flecks commonly used as an environmentally friendly decorative finish. This product is commonly used to suppress weeds in garden beds, help plants retain moisture during dry periods and as an attractive finish for various drainage solutions.
