Plant it Forward with ASQ

Plant it Forward

Every year, Australia celebrates National Tree Planting Day in various empowering ways. This past July, we at ASQ embarked on a mission to donate hundreds of trees to local schools for their tree-planting projects July. These plantings leave a lasting impact on both students and our planet.

Across June and July of 2024, ASQ matched purchases of indigenous tube trees with an additional tree for every tree donated. A tree for a tree.

These trees were donated for planting by students at California Gully Primary School, Kalianna Special School, Lightning Reef Primary, Maryborough Education Centre, Castlemaine Primary School, Harcourt Valley Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School, and Newstead Primary School on Schools Tree Planting Day, Friday, 26 July. Over 800 Indigenous natives were planted across these schools, enriching their environments and fostering a deeper connection to nature.

Our aim was to donate as many trees as possible, helping our youth connect with nature and discover the peace, health, and wellbeing that the outdoors brings. Fostering a sense of giving back and the possibility of healing our planet and local habitats through tree planting.

Each ASQ Garden & Landscape store featured a large jar labelled with each school's name. Each pebble in the jar represented a donation, allowing customers to choose which school received their tree. Our aim was to see every jar filled with pebbles.

Those who purchased one of our native sapling trees at any ASQ Garden & Landscape location and donated it watched as their small act of kindness grew into a towering legacy for the future. When we plant a tree, we plant for a healthier tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a plant, donated, participated, and helped Plant It Forward!
