Contract/Mobile Crushing:

Since the mid-1980s, ASQ Allstone Quarries has offered a complete mobile quarrying service, formerly known as ‘Bird’s Mobile Crushing’. We provide a range of solutions from single plant dry hire to fully serviced end-to-end quarry services, including stripping, loading, hauling, crushing, screening, and stockpiling. 

Recycling Plant:

Our Eaglehawk recycling plant processes construction and demolition waste such as concrete, asphalt, bricks, plasterboard, and glass into eco-friendly construction materials. These products, including Vic Roads road base, glass sand, sub base, decorative products, and gypsum soil conditioners, are available at our landscape supply yards in Eaglehawk, Castlemaine, and Maryborough. Since 1999, we have recycled over 700,000 tonnes of material, significantly reducing landfill waste. Our Castlemaine and Maryborough yards also offer a waste transfer service to our Eaglehawk plant.

 

About the role:

We're seeking a dynamic Plant Manager to oversee our Eaglehawk Fixed Crushing and Recycling Plant and Contract Crushing jobs nationwide. Leading a small team, you'll contribute to team development and operational expansion. Flexibility is essential, as you'll be hands-on as needed, managing budgets and controlling costs. A team player with a safety focus and positive attitude, you'll thrive in various locations, including Regional Victoria and Geelong, and eagerly develop your skillset with ASQ.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing the safe, efficient and effective operation of all plant processing and production.
  • Managing and operating fixed crushing and recycling plant and contract crushing projects.
  • Managing and adhering to all operational, safety and environmental site requirements (within ASQ and external customer sites)
  • Meeting production targets and specifications.
  • Managing product quality and addressing any discrepancies
  • Providing daily production reports.
  • Training, developing and mentoring staff.
  • Cultivating a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with ASQ policies and procedures, including operational and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Leading a team of plant operators, labourers and workers
  • Responsible for staff Rostering, performance reviews and management
  • Ensure costs are kept within budget for the relevant cost centres.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Over 3 years of experience in team leadership roles, overseeing operations in quarry, crushing/recycling plants, or similar environments.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in operating and maintaining a Mobile Crushing Plant
  • Experience in operating earthmoving machinery
  • Competency in loader, excavator, skid steer and dump truck
  • Knowledge and experience in material processing
  • Valid driving licence (preferably manual)
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting targets
  • Competent in performing basic plant repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Commitment to work safely and comply with safety procedures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively lead a small team.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Strong work ethics, organisational and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to guide, motivate and develop a team
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
